Charles Craig Justice-Obituary

 

  Charles Craig Justice passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 after a long illness in St. Cloud, Fla. He and his wife, Penny, had resided there for the last several years. 

  Charlie was born April 22, 1945 and raised in Cadillac, Mi. He graduated from Cadillac High School.  He joined the Air force shortly after graduation during the Vietnam Draft. Charlie was a career Air Force veteran.  He served 22 years of active duty and was stationed all over the world. While in active duty, he also served as the Air Force recruiter for the greater Wexford County area of Michigan from 1981-85. He retired from active duty in 1989 and then worked for many years at Meryl's Auto supply in Cadillac.  He then retired to move with his wife  downstate to live near the grandchildren.  After moving to the Lapeer County area, Charlie worked for NAPA Auto Supply of Capac and Almont for many more years. During his tenure in the area he was very active in his church, especially with youth programming. Eventually Charlie retired once again to move with his wife  further south to enjoy the weather and be with yet another set of grandchildren. There he worked for a few years again in an auto supply environment in the St. Cloud, Fla area and was also involved in church activities.

  Charlie will always be remembered as the big guy with the big heart.  He was always an advocate for children and his children,  grandchildren and now great grandchildren remember him as the BEST ever! He truly loved people and he loved life.

  Charlie is survived by his wife Penny, his children Cyndy Kalinowski (Matt), Kerry Lirones (Monty), Dan Ide (Lisa) and Tammy McComber (Ken), 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There are also several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

  A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Imlay City, Mi.  Please contact Cyndy Kalinowski at 810-724-2912 for further details.

Procrastination Sunday

I have a lot to do today, including making Lasagna for Matt. However, I sit here surfing. Not so aimlessly........I read a bunch on the liturgical/missal changes to the western Catholic church and looked up my favorite tree nursery's website. But the reality is I am no where near as efficient as I should be. I think I have spring/cabin fever.
So......I will post some aimless musings and then I need to get my butt off here and get busy with paperwork so that tomorrow I can hit the ground running.
1. Sacred Heart in Imlay City seems to be coming along very nicely. We even had coffee and donuts this morning. It was a rough one, but it is a good start for a parish that was virtually lifeless 6 months ago.
2. I am not a big snow fan so anytime now......we can get on with with the arrival of spring.
3. My ear is officially healed and I was able to do it anti biotic free. An important detail if I am to go over there yearly or so for the rest of my life.


Looks like the rest of the household plans to spend their Sunday afternoon napping so at least I will have peace and quiet and no one asking for me to do something. Maybe I will get my paperwork and other jobs done after all.

Burkina News

Well, my old and dear friend Dr. Ogboh, has come to the rescue once again. His practice is in Brown City, a little burg just to the north of us. I went to get my prescriptions for my upcoming trip to Burkina and as always, he was extremely interested in Rakieta and her fate.
He is from Ghana and was very helpful when she was here living with us. He gave me sage advice, as always, and also is going to work with us to help set up a holiday in Ghana so that Rakieta can have a visit with everyone. That is very uplifting news. You see the Burkinabe people only need their national ID to go to Ghana or a passport to fly there. It is only about 150 miles from Ouagadougou to the coast of Ghana but the roads are very poor so it is a long ride by bus. But they are used to that and time moving much slower so the bus ride is very doable for the family.
It is much easier and less expensive for us to fly to Ghana than Burkina and it is an English speaking country. A huge +++++++.
Not to mention it has beaches since it is on the coast. This may take a long time to get all planned out, BUT it will be a wonderful experience to be able to have both families together at once and the experience of a lifetime for all of us, but especially them.
